Plans to close 24 rehabilitation beds at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary will now be subject to public consultation following pressure from local health officials. The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust proposed the cuts to save money, but County Councillor Hamish Mills secured a formal review process for residents.
